Research

My research is focused on evidence-based conservation. I thus aim to identify the most reliable scientific research results and analyze how they are implemented in decision-making. I also contribute to practice-relevant ecological knowledge by meta-analyses and experimental research in relevant topics, such as biodiversity trends and the identification of drivers and mitigation measures to halt and reverse biodiversity declines.

A more recent focus of my research has been on the ecology and effects of soil disturbance on ground-nesting wild bees.

I situate myself at the intersection of conservation practice, quantitative synthesis of knowledge in biodiversity and experimental studies.
