Within the project Ground-nesting wild bees in flower strips and the influence of ploughing on ground-nesting bee nests, I analyze and compare wild bee communities in annual and perennial flower strips in agricultural landscapes. I am particularly interested in the effects of tillage measures such as ploughing on wild bees nesting in the soil. For this purpose, I develop and test suitable methods for locating nest sites and tracking foraging bees.

Besides the gain of ecological and methodological knowledge, I want to enable the formulation of effective recommendations for action for politics and practice with my work. The experience and local knowledge of the agricultural stakeholders involved in the project are of great value here. To this purpose, I engage in exchange, both locally and in dialog formats such as the Strategiedialog Landwirtschaft Baden Württemberg as a member of Working Group 4 (Challenge of Climate Change and Biodiversity).
