Research
Nature inspires me with its biodiversity, ecology and its complex interactions, especially between wild bees and their parasites. I am particularly fascinated by the ecology of wild bees and I would like to contribute to the protection of these species with my research.
As part of the "GolfBiodivers" project, I am analysing the effects of enhancement measures on wild bees, butterflies, moths and grasshoppers. I compare the situation before and after the enhancement with the help of golf course users (citizen science approach) and data collection by ecologists (scientific approach).
I also study the interactions between wild bees and their parasites by analysing nesting aids that are set up for wild bees. By understanding these relationships, effective conservation strategies can be developed to conserve biodiversity and secure the pollination services of wild bees. This research emphasizes the importance of parasites as an integral part of nature, playing an essential role in the stability and function of ecosystems despite their often negative effects on individual organisms.
